Unknown amount of time in Photoshop CS6 and Sketchbook Pro.
Since I now have my new laptop, I had to upgrade, errr, everything. So I’ll be switching to CS6 and the new Creative Cloud after a long bout of number crunching and waffling. (The numbers say that the full master collection plus one upgrade, thus two years, costs over that of five years of Creative Cloud at the current price and one year of the cloud is almost identical to the cost of an upgrade.) So yeah. I’m currently poking at a webcomic idea and trying to figure out how this whole hosting thing works. These are some of the characters from it. The two singled out so far are Isaiah and Emily.
Approximately 1 hour total (?) in Photoshop.
Just some quick sketches while working on a new gig! (No, it’s really not for Marvel.) I couldn’t get myself to not draw something badass and I wanted to get it out of my system. So Natasha happened. Then I had to get dressed an be social. Whoops?
Because of this new gig along with teaching Photoshop/animation at a summer camp, I’ll probably not have too many new finished things for the next while. But I’ll hopefully have warmups and maybe speed paintings whenever I can!
Also, if you’re interested and happen to have the funds, I’m trying to buy myself a new laptop. Consider getting something from me here.
Approximately 3-5 hours in Photoshop.
Bam, done. This will be available as a print in my shop soon. Just need to format it for print.
A little under 1.5 hours thus far in Photoshop.
I’m taking another whack at Jotun Prince Loki and I’m loving this one so so so much more! This is totes the one that’s going to end up my big print. Going to find another show to marathon while I work on this. Or I might move on and work on something else. I miss having so much fun with painting.
Approximately 5-6 hours in Photoshop.
There, a finished version! I might continue to make tweaks and perhaps give it a border soon but this is, essentially, it. The very final version will be linked here on my portfolio once it’s uploaded and will be available as a print in my shop.
More prints soon!
Approximately 3-4 hours in Photoshop thus far.
Continued progress! Mostly just going to do some spot color (red and emerald) then the smoke before cleanup and some fixing. Sadly, you can’t quite tell that he’s tilting his head back anymore. Not really sure how I’ll fix that. But it’s something?
Approximately 2 hours in Photoshop thus far.
Working on a Jotun Loki portrait to add to my print selection for Wizard World this year. Mostly inspired by Eidolon, which is an amazing and supremely researched read. I’ll be working on this more tomorrow along with a Tony pinup that I hope will be the first in a series of all the movie’verse Avengers. Stay tuned.
Time unknown. Color in Photoshop, sketch in pencil.
Oh, hey, I finally finished this! Based on a song that may or may not exist on Patrick Stump’s album Soul Punk. Pick it up on iTunes if you don’t have it already. Hopefully, I’ll be posting a bit more soon. We’ll see what I can come up with.
Varying amounts of time in Photoshop.
I figured I should upload some of the things I’ve poked at recently so here you go. The (backburnered) portrait to a song that may or may not exist. (Or you could buy Patrick Stump’s Soul Punk and keep listening after “Run Dry” ends…) Some process on a sketch of Belit from the current Conan the Barbarian. Becky Cloonan might be my biggest art inspiration ever, let me tell you. A very random cephalopodic mermaid doodle. A little something done to “Bottom of the River” by Delta Rae. I promise I’m not dead and there’s stuff posted to my instagram fairly often. So go check that out too!
38 1/3 minutes in Photoshop. Versions with and without sketch overlay.
I can’t sleep so I started sketching along to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. I decided to give the album another shot recently. This is sort of my interpretation of “Marry The Night” before having seen the video. I have very little to no idea what happens in the video at all. … Beehives are great? I guess? I’ll go back to Photoshop.
