Unknown amount of time in Photoshop CS6 and Sketchbook Pro.

Since I now have my new laptop, I had to upgrade, errr, everything. So I’ll be switching to CS6 and the new Creative Cloud after a long bout of number crunching and waffling. (The numbers say that the full master collection plus one upgrade, thus two years, costs over that of five years of Creative Cloud at the current price and one year of the cloud is almost identical to the cost of an upgrade.) So yeah. I’m currently poking at a webcomic idea and trying to figure out how this whole hosting thing works. These are some of the characters from it. The two singled out so far are Isaiah and Emily.

A little under 1.5 hours thus far in Photoshop.

I’m taking another whack at Jotun Prince Loki and I’m loving this one so so so much more! This is totes the one that’s going to end up my big print. Going to find another show to marathon while I work on this. Or I might move on and work on something else. I miss having so much fun with painting.

Unknown amount of time in pencil (.5 red lead and 2B technical pencil) in sketchbook.

What can be written about Toni Stark that hasn’t already been tweeted? She’s a billionaire genius playboy philanthropist (her words) with enough guts and knowledge to see any project she puts effort behind to the very end. Take for instance the tale of her escape from insurgents (which can be seen in her many interviews afterwards), the change of Stark Industries from military juggernaut to peaceful science R&D (which can be read about on numerous blogs), or her exploits as the Iron Man and one of the Avengers (which can be read about exclusively on her own blog). Toni Stark does what she wants.

In short, I really really really wanted to genderbend the Avengers because yes but all that’s come out so far is Toni. I’m working on it and thinking about doing all of them in, like, runway fashions or something…

Patrick Stump, Run Dry (X Heart X Fingers)

Approx. 3 hours in Photoshop.

So here’s the finished print! I’m pretty happy with it and Patrick liked it (and recognized it!) so I’m feeling pretty fulfilled right now. The first six copies have gone to the band and I’ll have these up for sale somewhere soon. There will be posts here.

And now that I’m home, have my train sketch of Alejandra, the new Ghost Rider.

About half an hour total. Pencil in sketchbook.

Yep, these two again. I think I’m getting the hang of this a bit. I might even do that whole drawing the actual comic soon! (I sort of have to…) So yes. More pencil sketches to get myself in the mood for this really.

Pencil in sketchbook. Approximately 1 hour.

Finally designed these two! More info on them closer to being done my comic for the Mythology Anthology. It’s a fairly popular myth, if you can’t read my handwriting by some miracle.

These are the seven (when did I do this many?!) non-commission sketches from Wizard World Chicago this past weekend. Mostly just something to keep myself busy and so I have stuff to return from con with. Most of these will be made into prints in the near future so keep an eye out for that. We have…

  • Random creepy angel doodle, I don’t even know…
  • Black Cat (Spider-man/Marvel)
  • Panty and Stocking (PSG)
  • Fiona and Cake (Adventure Time)
  • The White Violin/Vanya (Umbrella Academy/Dark Horse)
  • Kaylee (Firefly/Serenity)
  • Another random creepy doodle, I have a penchant for those.
  • One of two commissions of the weekend (and the most fun because KITTEN), Dex-Starr (Green Lantern/DC)

I’m also including my DC ladies sketch cards, since I have no idea if I ever posted them. For reference, we have Harley Quinn, Zatanna Zatara, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Power Girl, and Batwoman.

There, an art dump for the ages. Phew.

There! Finished TimxKon print, complete with lyrics from Black Cards’ “Smash Into Me” demo. You can buy it, along with my other prints, online here or come to my table at Chicago Comic Con Artists Alley, #3155/3254. I’ll be there all weekend.

Been working on a Tim DrakexKon-El print for Chicago Comic Con because @falsestart demanded them cuddling and won’t let me stop until it’s finished. Inks are now mostly satisfactorily completed. Just need to do color and maybe start another print. This nasal congestion will keep me awake! … Yeah.
