38 1/3 minutes in Photoshop. Versions with and without sketch overlay.

I can’t sleep so I started sketching along to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. I decided to give the album another shot recently. This is sort of my interpretation of “Marry The Night” before having seen the video. I have very little to no idea what happens in the video at all. … Beehives are great? I guess? I’ll go back to Photoshop.

“I get drunk a little too much for it to be healthy, no one wants to tell me.”

Patrick Stump, Run Dry (X Heart X Fingers)

Approx. 3 hours in Photoshop.

So here’s the finished print! I’m pretty happy with it and Patrick liked it (and recognized it!) so I’m feeling pretty fulfilled right now. The first six copies have gone to the band and I’ll have these up for sale somewhere soon. There will be posts here.

Black sumi-e ink, carmine red ink, and white watercolor on cardboard.

And here we have Batwoman! As far as ink experiments go, this is probably one of my best. I might sell it but I kind of like it a lot. So maybe not.

Pencil sketch colored in Photoshop.

Photoshop opened so I colored my sketch. Now I’m bored with it and not happy with how it turned out.

Photoshop doodle for @GabrielMY.

I give to you Jamie Chow, the leading lady of Brass Knuckle Ballad. Check it out and watch the trailer, seems cool.

Original digital painting. Based on “Wine Red” by the Hush Sound. Pencil and Photoshop.

Finally put the border on this one! It’ll be in my etsy store soon as an 11x17 poster. Back to animating now.

Colors are completely done! And this is probably the last update until I finish completely and upload. Which could be a while, since the deadline has been extended. Well dang. Oh well, more time to finish those Suitehearts, right? Those last two are next on my list, along with more for my song-based sketchbook. I’d ask who you want to see next but it doesn’t matter. It’s going to be Donnie then Sandman.

…I figured out what my problem was. Duh. I’m working in CMYK. Anyways, it’s fixed for display. Colors are very nearly done. There’s a bit of clean up, which you probably can’t see, and his eye to repaint (yeah, I paint eyes completely separately because I’m weird). Then begins the long, arduous process of the ridiculous background I have planned. I have absolutely no idea how to do it. Oh, and signing and doing something with the card. You’ll see soon enough.

As I said, this is for a coloring contest on dA. I wanted to take a crack at something inked by someone else and, since the whole Alvin Lee contest entry didn’t exactly pan out, I did this. This is the second sitting working on this and the completed greyscale. I’m going to probably flat the colors tonight and add shadows and highlights tomorrow. I know, my process is long and overly involved. I know it well.

ETA: I have absolutely no idea what that random darker grey bit is. At all.
